International Huskies
Celebrating UW Converge Taipei 2019
The University of Washington’s premier gathering of international alumni and friends headed to Taipei on November 9, 2019. It was another stellar year, bringing together Huskies from across the globe. Centered around a summit on artificial intelligence, UW Converge Taipei created a space for learning, connection and fun.
Outstanding speakers were the highlight of the day’s summit. The group included professors, innovators and business leaders. It was headlined by UW President Ana Mari Cauce. (Read about her time in Taiwan on her blog.) The speakers offered perspectives on the future of artificial intelligence from their diverse backgrounds including technology, engineering, law and medicine.
The day ended with an elegant reception on the rooftop deck of the W Taipei hotel. Creating connections is at the heart of UW Converge. Huskies in Taipei embraced that spirit, forging deeper relationships with each other and the University. We are deeply grateful for those who strengthened their ties to the University by making a gift. Together, attendees of this year’s event raised more than $44,000 in support of UW’s teaching, research and impact.
We hope you’ll join us next November for UW Converge Shanghai 2020. You won’t want to miss your chance to catch Husky Men’s Basketball when they play Tulane in China.
