FAQ
Can I apply to both the Bay Area and D.C. Career Treks?
Yes. We ask that you select a top choice between the two in your application if you have interest in both.
If I have interest in both, would I be able to participate in both Career Treks this year?
Based on timing and logistics, you can only be accepted to participate in one Trek during Spring Break 2017. If you apply to both, be sure that you have strong enough interest in each option. We build each Trek uniquely, factoring in student interests and availability of alumni in the area who might meet those interests.
Do you offer any scholarships?
While these Career Treks are already subsidized to keep costs down, we recognize that some students still might have a financial barrier. We are proud to offer one full scholarship for each Trek, including lodging and airfare. Look for instructions on expressing interest in a scholarship in your Career Trek application confirmation e-mail.
Am I required to stay with the group?
No. You can make your own arrangements. If you do so, you would be required to meet us at the hotel each morning so that we can travel together during company visit days, and there will also be a few additional required in-person meetings during the Career Trek. Unless you have family or friends in the area whom you can stay with, we recommend the group lodging, as it will likely be the most cost effective and the most fun!
Am I required to travel to and from the Career Trek destination with the group?
No. While we can book the flight for you for a fee, you are also welcome to coordinate travel on your own. Booking on your own would also allow you to extend your time, because the group flights will depart and return on the first and last Trek dates. Keep in mind that you would be required to be in the destination for an afternoon in-person meeting on the Trek start date, and we will wrap up by noon at the latest on the Trek end date.
