In March, Hong Kong Husky Lui Tong, ’90, was part of a virtual event hosted by “The Economist.” She spoke about how Hong Kong companies have adapted their operations under trying circumstances and changing consumer demands. The webinar is available to stream online.
A taste of Shanghai
In May, the Shanghai Huskies had a great night out at Brut Eatery. They welcomed new Huskies, reconnected with old friends and shared wine.
Busy in Beijing
The Beijing Huskies are making the most of their summer. From their annual BBQ gathering to taking part in multi-university events with friends from institutions like NYU and USC (just to name a few), they’re all about sharing Husky pride far and wide.
Indonesia Huskies dive into data
The Indonesia Huskies welcomed the managing director of Algoritma to a gathering in May. Their conversation focused on data science education, introducing the fundamentals of online data collection and use.
Beijing Husky makes prestigious list
Congratulations to Beijing Husky Crysti Chen, ’15, for being honored in the “2021 Top 10 Outstanding Chinese Youth Awards.” Presented by the All America Chinese Youth Federation, the American Chinese Public Diplomacy Association and the “Los Angeles Post,” these awards are given to “outstanding representatives of the millions of Chinese youth and Chinese international students in the States.” Crysti was also recently the featured speaker at the Global Leadership Series presented by UW CIRCLE.
Taiwan Husky joins JSIS panel on global economy
Ken Sun, ’00, General Manager (Taiwan), Microsoft, joined the Jackson School’s Taiwan Studies Program for a discussion on supply chains and geopolitics. The panel covered Taiwan’s business landscape during a turbulent pandemic and the post-pandemic future of its thriving economy.
Husky receives grant for international entrepreneurship class
The Foster School’s Global Business Center was excited to support Valerie Trask, ’05, a lecturer of entrepreneurship at Foster, this year as she focused on internationalizing her Creating a Company class. Valerie shared that, “the ability to have speakers from other parts of the world opened up a whole other dimension to the class.” Professor Trask was able to feature speakers across a wide range of international entrepreneurial sectors, including licensing agreements, investing, grants, conservation, distribution and manufacturing. She was also thrilled to be able to host entrepreneurs from across the world, with representation from South America, Europe, Africa and Asia, as well as North America.
