Biology Networking Night
Wednesday Evenings, 6:00 - 7:30pm
October 17th, January 30th, and April 16th
Biology Networking Night is an opportunity for current Biology students to meet with UW Biology, Botany, and Zoology alumni to learn about different careers Biology graduates might pursue. Five alumni form a panel of professionals that share their career building experiences since graduation. Panelists describe their current professions and steps to take to achieve career goals. Alumni from all years are invited to participate in the alumni panel. Recent graduates who are still building their resumes are also encouraged to come and network with other alumni for career development.
Call (206) 685-2185 to sign-up to attend or be a panelist.

Evolution in the Evening
Informal Lecture Series, Spring Quarter 2008Thursday Evenings, 7:00 - 8:30pm, April 3 - June 5
Theodosius Dobzhansky wrote that, "Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution." Despite the stunning successes of evolutionary theory in explaining phenomena from the diversity of life on Earth to the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in hospitals, the principles and ramifications of evolutionary biology remain mysterious (and controversial) to many people. This spring Biology Prof. Toby Bradshaw will lead an informal lecture series on evolution. Lectures will be held one evening a week and will be discussion-based. All Biology, Botany, and Zoology alumni and friends of the Department of Biology are welcome to attend to expand their knowledge of evolution or simply to refresh their memories. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions and topics for discussion. Skepticism is highly valued! Registration is limited to 30 people.
Call (206) 685-2185 for more information or to register early.

Our 2nd Annual Alumni Reunion will take place this coming summer. We’re looking forward to more catching up with our alumni. We hope you will be able to make it!
