Mark your calendars!

Check out some upcoming Dream Project events, happening in winter and spring quarters!

Financial Aid Events
All events can be found at roadmaptocollege.org/financial-aid-events.

As we approach the new year, the Dream Project is excited for the next event group in the Road Map to College Event series: Financial Aid Events (FAEs). These 25 events provide great opportunities for students to receive support in their community on their FAFSA, WASFA and scholarship applications from Dream Project mentors, Financial Aid officers and community volunteers. FAEs are part of the larger College Goal Washington campaign but are specific to the Road Map region. All events can be found at roadmaptocollege.org/financial-aid-events; please help us promote the events in your community. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here! We hope to see you at one in the coming months!

Scholarship Saturday
Date: 1/31/15
Time: 1 – 5 p.m.
Location: UW Campus, Mary Gates Hall
Scholarship Saturday is a workshop event hosted by the University of Washington Dream Project that assists high school seniors through both the scholarship and FAFSA and WAFSA completion processes. With the support of scholarship experts and mentors, high school students will be able to find scholarships that are a good fit for them and fill out and submit high quality applications. This event is open to all high school students. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Spring BBQ
Date: 5/1/15
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Location: UW Campus, The Quad
Spring BBQ is the first event the UW Dream Project holds with its junior cohort. Juniors from all sixteen of the Dream Project’s partner high schools are invited to take a field trip to the University of Washington campus where they will have the opportunity to tour the campus, sit in on actual university lectures, and get to know the campus community and college life. The idea is for the high school students to envision themselves as college students. Students will also be provided with a delicious meal and fun entertainment!

Live the Dream Scholarship Event
Date: 5/13/15
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Location: UW Campus, HUB Lyceum
This event is a celebration of the year’s worth of effort that senior Dream Scholars have put in with the Dream Project. UW-bound students selected from each of the Dream Project partner high schools receive $1000 scholarships and are honored in a ceremony that recognizes their accomplishments. We invite families and supporters of the scholarship recipients to celebrate their hard work.

Dream Project Graduation Ceremony
Date: 6/10/15
Time: 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Location: UW Campus, Mary Gates Hall
This event is a pre-commencement celebration to honor graduating seniors that have been involved with the Dream Project during their undergraduate academic career. This event recognizes the seniors’ academic accomplishments and their contributions toward actualizing the Dream Project mission of assisting low-income and first-generation high school students in attaining higher education. We invite families and friends of graduating seniors to attend, as well as current Dream Project mentors and leaders. This celebration features cap-decorating activities, an ice cream buffet and photo booth.
