Staff spotlight

Staff Spotlight
Amrita! Happy January! For those who don’t know me yet, I’m Amrita Heer, the program support coordinator for the Dream Project. My main role is to support our team of 47 college and career readiness assistants and coordinators that are out in 36 middle and high schools in the Road Map region. Read on.

CCRA update

CCRA update
We are in our second year of the Race to the Top Grant and we’ve had some exciting changes to the program. Last year, there were 17 college and career readiness assistants (CCRAs) in 17 schools; this year we have 47 CCRAs in 36 schools. Each CCRA does something a little different because each school is a little different. Learn more.

AWW wrap-up!

AWW wrap-up
Dream Project’s largest event of the year, Admissions Workshop Weekend (AWW), held last year on November 15 and 16, brought high school seniors together with mentors and writing tutors for two days of intense work on completing quality college applications. Learn more.

Mentor reflections

Mentor reflection

Dream Project is nuts. A group of 20-somethings enrolled in college full-time spending hours a week trying to break years of institutional and structural oppression and make sure low-income and first generation high school students get to college and break the cycle of poverty? Read on.

Celebrating our mentors

Holiday party

Holiday party! During the lead-up to the holiday season, it’s easy to get sidetracked by life's stressors and lose sight of long-term goals. After a long and exciting quarter filled with personal statements, college applications and preparing for the FAFSA with their mentees, DP mentors averted being dissuaded from cheer by choosing to de-stress with a holiday party. Read on.

Mark your calendars!

Events

It's time to get ready for winter and spring quarter events! From financial aid events to the Dream Project Graduation Ceremony, there's a lot happening at DP! Don't miss out on anything! Learn more.

From the Scholarship Saturday team

Scholarship Saturday

Scholarship Saturday is right around the corner! Last year’s event had a record of over 100 students participate. With the success of the 2014 Admissions Workshop Weekend, our goal for this year’s Scholarship Saturday is to double last year’s attendance and have over 200 students come to campus to receive assistance on their scholarships! Learn more.

SUPPORT STUDENTS

Your gift to the Dream Project can support scholarships to help first-generation and low-income high school students achieve the dream of attending college.
