Information Management -  Phillip Endicott, internship designing Olympic Sculpture Park website
Phillip Endicott is no stranger to the Seattle-area arts and culture scene, having held strategic jobs with successful endeavors including the Columbia City Farmers Market, Consolidated Works (a multi-disciplinary arts center), the Seattle Men's Chorus, and On the Boards, a theater group. He's also worked in the high-tech arena while at Festivals.com and habit.com. But it took a graduate internship and one of the biggest arts events in Seattle's recent history to finally combine his experience in the arts with his interest in technology. More...

Rose Sliger Krause, recipient of the Sylvia Lake Finley Multiethnic Fellowship for 2006-2007, says receiving the scholarship was one of the main factors in her decision to pursue her Master's of Library and Information Science (MLIS) at the University of Washington Information School. Faculty Spotlight - Kevin Desouza, Asst. Professor and Director of the new Institute for National Security Education and Research (INSER)
Assistant professor Kevin Desouza is adept at juggling many projects. Besides being on the iSchool faculty since 2005, he is also an adjunct assistant professor in electrical engineering at the UW, a founding faculty member of the Institute for Innovation Management (I3M) and an affiliate faculty member of the Center for American Politics and Public Policy (both housed at the UW), the author of four blogs, two websites, seven books (including Agile Information Systems, Butterworth Heinemann, 2006) and more than 100 articles in practitioner and academic journals. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what a job's title actually means. What exactly does a field marketing manager do? How does the typical business development analyst spend her day? During his recent job search, graduating Informatics student Bennett Hornbostel ('07) had just this kind of question. When a Microsoft recruiter mentioned the company had jobs available as a "technical account manager," Hornbostel got in touch with Informatics alumnus Prem Kumar ('06), who has worked as a Microsoft TAM since his graduation last year.
