Fall 2010 | Return to issue home
Come Home for The Weekend! The Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity will host The Weekend, a series of exciting events geared toward alumni of color and friends of diversity that will take place in conjunction with the University of Washington’s Homecoming, Oct. 15-16. The two-day celebration includes an alumni mixer, pre-game tailgate and group tickets to the Huskies’ football game against Pac-10 rival Oregon State. To purchase your tickets for any and all of these events, or for more in-depth information, please visit The Weekend web site. More than 400 alumni and friends took part in the festivities last year. We look forward to seeing you there! Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 The Weekend begins with an alumni mixer at Hotel Deca. This will be a great opportunity to network, enjoy good music, light appetizers and reconnect with UW alumni. Beverages will be available for purchase (credit-card bar). Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 Join us for MAP's annual celebration of diversity in our community and at the University of Washington. The Bridging the Gap Breakfast is an exciting opportunity to recognize distinguished alumni winners, raise funds for the MAP Endowed Scholarship and announce the 2010 MAP scholarship recipients. Get more information. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 It would not be a proper Homecoming weekend without a tailgate. Join us at our tent in "The Zone," located behind the Husky Stadium East End bleachers, where UW alumni can enjoy pre-game activities including performances by the Husky Marching Band and cheer squad, as well as the live radio broadcast on KJR-AM 950. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. For the football game against Oregon State, our group tickets will seat everyone together. Register for just the tailgate, just the game, or both. Tickets will go fast so make sure to reserve your seat as soon as possible. Photos by Ian Gonzales Fall 2010 | Return to issue home | ||||
