Students, Senior Center Connect Over Oral Histories

The Carlson Leadership and Public Service Center connects UW classes with community-based organizations so that students can experience firsthand what they are learning about and organizations can benefit from student service.

Hello in There, a short film, looks at Holly Barker's anthropology class, which was matched with the Pike Place Senior Center to give students an opportunity to gain experience in qualitative research methods. The outcome was a reciprocal learning experience for both students and members of the senior center. Watch the video.
