Types of Faculty Collaborations in the
Three-Campus System
Three Campus Collaborations:
- Tools for Transformation: Center on Human Rights & Applied Research on
Labor
- Other: Nursing, Three-Campus Distance Learning Project
Joint Appointments:
- Joint appointment of one UWB faculty member in UWS department
Adjunct Appointments:
- Several adjunct appointments of UWB faculty members in UWS departments
Graduate Teaching, M.A. & Ph.D. Committees:
- Many UWB faculty members have taught at least one graduate course;
some have taught multiple graduate seminars
- Many UWB faculty members have served on often multiple exam and thesis
committees
Undergraduate Teaching:
- Some UWB faculty members have taught undergraduate courses at UWS
- Some UWS faculty members have taught undergraduate courses at UWB
Service on Committees:
- Multiple UWS and UWT faculty members have served on UWB tenure and
promotion committees
- Multiple UWS faculty members have served on UWS committees for
internal review and in other advisory roles.
Membership in UWS Centers:
- UWB faculty member is a faculty associate in the Center for
Multicultural Education at the University of Washington
- UWB faculty member is fellow in Walter J. Simpson Center of the
Humanities.
Cross-Campus Graduate Student and Recent Ph.D. Teaching/Training at
UWB:
- UWB has used many graduate students and recent Ph.D.s to teach
classes. Because of our often different kinds of courses, we often engage
these hires in somewhat intensive orientation and training sessions that
will likely be useful to them in their future careers.
Informal Collaborations:
- Valuable informal collaborations have occurred amongst faculty members
in all three campuses.
