Career path spotlight: Lana Harvey

  • Title: Senior Research Strategist
  • Team: Prospect Development, Development Programs
  • Tenure: 18 years

My career with the UW began as a student, studying English and Women’s Studies (currently Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies). While in school, I landed an awesome role as a student assistant at the Jackson School of International Studies, specifically with the Canadian Studies Center. After graduation, I worked outside the University, but quickly realized how much I missed being part of an academic environment and the UW’s mission. I applied far and wide within the University, and in 2008, my dream was realized with my first Advancement position as a Development Coordinator for the School of Nursing. I was back! In 2012, I transitioned to the Prospect Development team, where I’ve been ever since.
