Arnold Air Society
The Arnold Air Society (AAS), named for General Henry “Hap” Arnold, is a professional honorary service organization of selected Air Force ROTC cadets from 150 of the nation’s colleges and universities, including the Air Force Academy. AAS is a private, non-profit organization with approximately 3,000 cadet members stretching nationwide across AFROTC detachments.
AAS provides cadets with leadership, organizational, and public relations opportunities. National conventions such as ARCON/NATCON also provides opportunities to meet and interact with cadets, military officers, and dignitaries from across the country. In their professional development, cadets are encouraged to communicate with local government and business leaders, as well as the Air Force Association.
At the University of Washington’s AFROTC Detachment 910’s Douglas Matheson Squadron, cadets create innovative ways to perform community service in the Greater Seattle Area and are focused on creating a legacy of service to the residents of Washington State.
We develop young military and civic leaders who are proactive, knowledgeable, and inspired to make a difference. Nurturing these ideals of continuous improvement in our professional and personal lives allows us to accomplish our primary mission of becoming officers in the world’s greatest Air Force.
