Alumni Honored at Awards of Excellence

Eddie Pasatiempo, ’76, has received the Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service Award; and the Honorable Norman Rice, ’72, ’74, has received the Alumnus Summa Laude Dignatus Award.

Their outstanding achievements will be celebrated the Awards of Excellence ceremony in Meany Hall on June 8 at 3:30 p.m.

According to one of Mr. Pasatiempo’s nomination letters, “Eddie has become one of the University of Washington’s most prolific ambassadors with a broad range of connections stretching across the UW community. Additionally, his experience, innovation and leadership in collaboratively securing an aligned, relevant and sustainable future for the UWAA speaks loudly of his strong, enduring commitment to the well-being of the UW.”

According to one of Mr. Rice’s nomination letters, “Throughout his 40+ career in public service, Mr. Rice has distinguished himself through his leadership, his lasting accomplishments, his commitment to the public good, and his continued dedication to the University of Washington. Mr. Rice’s countless accomplishments and work to improve the lives of all citizens of our community make him an alumnus worthy of the highest honor the University of Washington confers upon its graduates.”

The Awards of Excellence event includes a one-hour ceremony hosted by President Ana Mari Cauce and Provost and Executive Vice President Jerry Baldasty, followed by a reception with hors d’oeuvres, cupcakes, a photo booth, and a chance to connect and celebrate with your team members and the rest of the UW community.
