UW Converge Virtual 2020 has come to an end but that doesn’t mean the learning and connection have to stop. We hope you were able to enjoy one of our many virtual events this year as we focused on the timely theme of the University’s Population Health Initiative. We especially hope you were able to join our conversation with UW President Ana Mari Cauce. A recording of that event and others are below along with more information about the topics we covered.
Hear directly from President Cauce as she expands on the UW’s Population Health Initiative and takes questions from the global Husky community. Find out how our work impacts your country, neighborhood and family.
Join Dr. Ali Mokdad, the chief strategy officer for Population Health, for an introduction to UW’s work to advance population health and find solutions by combining our knowledge of the factors that cause unhealthiness in populations. In this talk, you’ll hear about the University’s quest for answers to some of today’s biggest challenges impacting our health.
The pandemic has highlighted the racial, social and economic inequities that shape the health and well-being of all people in the United States and throughout the world. As we look forward to a post-COVID-19 world, how can we create a future in which we are all healthier — as individuals and entire populations? How do we enhance the resilience of the environment we rely on? And how do we address the factors perpetuating the inequities that harm so many? Join the University of Washington for a discussion with leaders who are envisioning how we will improve population health for everyone.
At the University of Washington, we believe improving population health worldwide is a moral imperative, driven by our public mission of service to all.
That is why UW President Ana Mari Cauce has brought together the University community and others to create a groundbreaking initiative that will advance the health and well-being of people around the world by leveraging capabilities and opportunities at the UW and beyond.
Together, we can create a world where all people can live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
This year has brought us more than our share of challenges, but 2020 also marks the end of a decade full of achievements that Huskies around the world can celebrate. Among those laudable accomplishments are the many ways the global UW community has contributed to the University, their local chapters and pressing issues around the world.
Find out how UW alumni and friends outside the United States joined the Be Boundless campaign by giving generously of their time, resources and expertise.
