Husky Socials
K-Pop Dance Class
Sun. March 23, 2025 4–5:30 p.m.
PopRox Dance Studio, Capitol Hill | 1429 12th Ave, Seattle WA 98122
K-pop has swept the nation!
With infectious rhythms and killer choreography, K-pop’s global fanbase transcends age and culture. It’s time for Huskies to hit the dance floor! UWAA is partnering with Seattle’s PopRox Dance Studio to break down the dance moves and embrace the fun. No experience required!
Huskies and K-pop have deep roots. We are delighted to welcome UW alum Kyu Lee, ’00, as our special guest for this event — as a Hollywood insider and Korean entertainment executive, his insights on the K-pop movement are sure to be fascinating. Then bust a move with UW alum and PopRox instructor May Qiang, ’22, ’23, who will teach our group the dance choreography to Fifty Fifty’s hit song “Cupid.”

About the instructor
Meet May Qiang, ’22, ’23
May Qiang, ’22, ’23, is PopRox’s very first employee, setting the high bar for our culture of “people-first” dance instructors. May’s lifelong love for dance began with a playful performance wrapped in toilet paper on her family’s dining table. As a professional figure skater for eight years, she trained in gymnastics, ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop.
May’s devotion to dance stems from its ability to express oneself and bring people together. She strives to create joy and foster harmony through the universal language of movement. May hopes to continue to create a space that empowers others to move and groove on the dance floor.
