The Office of Research welcomes Dr. Evelynn Hammonds for “The Long Road to Equity in Research“. In her lecture, Dr. Hammonds explains how achieving equity in the scientific, technical and academic enterprises in the United States has been a long struggle. Dr. Hammonds will discuss examples of the historical barriers that have been overcome and the challenges that remain which have made equity an elusive goal in the United States, specifically in higher education in STEM fields.
Dr. Hammonds is Harvard University’s Barbara Gutmann Rosenkrantz Professor of History of Science, Professor of African and African American Studies & Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the T. Chan School of Public Health.
