Winter Solstice Walk at the Arboretum

The Washington Park Arboretum comes to light as you stroll amongst the trees, enjoy a hot beverage and create seasonal decorations at this special event just for UWAA members, thanks to the UW Botanic Gardens.
After a luminary forest walk, craft a holiday swag with lush, fragrant Arboretum greens. UW Botanic Gardens staff will be on hand to help you make sure your swag is fresh and festive. Complimentary hot drinks will help keep you warm, and food (from Isidro’s food truck) will be available for purchase at the event.

*Children 5 and over are welcome to the first session, which begins at 3 p.m. Because the swag activity involves working with sharp tools, we require at least one adult for every two children in a party.
The 3 p.m. family-friendly session will feature complimentary hot cocoa and cider. Guests to the 21+ session will receive complimentary hot toddies, beer and wine.
The route for the luminary walk will be decided the day of the event based on local conditions. Guests are advised to dress for inclement weather and to wear shoes that can get muddy. The path is not intended to be strenuous, but it will not be ADA-accessible.
