Japan’s pastoral side dazzles with magnificent Mt. Fuji and a cruise on Ashi Lake. Overnight in a traditional ryokan inn and travel by express train to lovely Takayama in the Japanese Alps. A traditional tea ceremony and a cooking class offer hands-on Japanese cultural experiences.

Activity Details

  • Walk 2-4 miles per day, often on uneven terrain
  • Uneven, steep terrain at Fuji National Park
  • Many stairs throughout tour, often 100+ at one time (most notably in train stations and at temples)
  • Need to take shoes off to enter various temples and sites
  • Embarkation/disembarkation of multiple trains
