Data Exports
ScorePak® score and item files are available by request to assist in further analyses or for submission to Canvas Gradebook. Each score and item file includes information for all students. Files are generally output as an Excel spreadsheet. Other format options are Fixed Length Text and Comma Delimited Text (please see below for more details).
Score Files
Score files include students’ names, IDs, and scores for each exam specified.
The order of scores, when use Bookkeeping account, is alphabetical. For missing scores, value and version are blank.
Record length is determined by the number of scores.
ScorePak® score files are available in two formats for direct import into Canvas Gradebook (as a csv file) and a flexible version for your convenience (as an MS Excel file). Instructions for importing your scan file to Canvas can be found on UW-IT. Their dedicated Knowledge Base webpage provides step-by-step guidance to upload your file successfully: Import ScorePaks into Canvas. Item Files
Item files include students’ names, IDs, and responses to each question.
The content of the “Extra” field varies according to the answer sheet used. For Standard Answer Sheets this field will be blank.
Record length is determined by the number of questions. Unmarked fields are output as blanks. Multi-marked fields are output as asterisks (*).

Specify Fixed Length Text in the Score and Item Files section on the ScorePak® Service Request form.
