In the Loop Newsletter
Sep 25, 2024
Dear Huskies,
Happy first day of the Fall quarter! You are doing great! For new huskies, we want to extend our warmest welcome. We got connected with many of you during summer through our Regional Connection Groups for undergraduate students or Summer Engagement Programs for graduate students. It was lovely meeting many of you during the International Welcome Program. We cannot wait to get to know more about you. For our returning friends, we want to say welcome back! We have missed you and we hope you had a wonderful summer.
As the new quarter begins, we want to reintroduce ourselves. We are CIRCLE (Center for International Relations and Cultural Leadership Exchange), a hub for resources, community and activities that aims to support, advocate, and engage our international student community, and to strengthen cross-cultural engagement within and between our domestic and international students at UW. From job hunting tips to learning about local cultures, CIRCLE is here with you every step of your journey. We are physically located in 250 Schmitz Hall where you can drop in any time between 10am to 4pm on weekdays. Please don’t hesitate to reach out! You can also visit our website for additional ways to connect!
Now that classes are in session, we want to remind you that International Student Services (ISS) cannot register your immigration record until you meet enrollment requirements. Please register by Oct. 8th (Tuesday) to avoid having your university account put on hold by ISS.
- Undergraduate students — 12 credits each quarter
- Graduate students — typically 10 credits each quarter
Please remember that you can only register for 1 online course that will be counted towards these required credits.
Throughout the quarter, you will continue to hear from us on Wednesdays through our In the Loop biweekly newsletters. In these newsletters, we will highlight exciting events hosted by CIRCLE, campus-wide programming and opportunities relevant to our diverse student body, and resources that can help you thrive at UW and beyond. Moreover, you can expect to learn about news and events happening in the greater Seattle area. From public lectures to local arts scenes, from hiking trips to waterfront block parties, we want you to make the most out of your time in Seattle!
Sincerely,
CIRCLE Team
