A new show from UW-based public radio station KUOW features a segment on Steve Badanes, UW architecture professor who co-created the Fremont Troll in 1990 with the help of students and the local community. (For more information about the UW and local neighborhoods see UW in Your Community.)
A distinguished panel moderated by Ross Reynolds of KUOW-FM and sponsored in part by the University of Washington Center for Human Rights will discuss Indefinite Detention without Due Process at Seattle Town Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 7:30 – 9:00pm.
Erin Feeney, ’12, wrote a book about Seattle’s floating homes while working toward her master’s degree in architecture at the UW. Now she has curated an exhibit on the same subject at the Museum of History and Industry. The exhibit runs until Nov. 3.
Starting September 7-8 and continuing every weekend through June 2014, visitors to the Burke Museum can take part in “Best of the Burke” guided tours and participate in hands-on activities on different themes with crafts to take home. Free parking available.
