The Husky United Military Veterans are hosting an afternoon outing to the Seattle Mariners’ annual Salute to Armed Forces game on Sunday, April 19th, as part of their #uwiserved campaign. Tickets are free for student veterans through the UW Veteran Community Fund and the University of Washington Veterans Center. Companion tickets have been funded by a generous donation from a UW veteran alumni. Chance to win a VIP tour of the University Link light rail station
For the month of April, if you spend $5 and fill out an entry form at participating businesses in the University District, you could win a chance to be one of the first people to tour the new UW light rail station located near Husky Stadium, which isn’t slated to open until 2016. The UW Office of External Relations recently released a report which assesses the services and programs available to our veteran and active duty military personnel across all three UW campuses. The report includes how the UW supports, and could better support, our students who are veterans or active duty.

Paws for a Cause 5K on UW Campus
The Husky Running Club will be hosting an on-campus 5K run and walk for UW students and community members coming up on April 11. Proceeds from the event will benefit UW Relay for Life which raises money to fight cancer and provide support programs for cancer patients and survivors.
