UW Election Eye: on the ground reporting
Earlier this year, the UW Department of Communication joined with the Seattle Times to present Election Eye 2012, an on-the-ground blog about the 2012 primary campaign as seen through the eyes of UW students and faculty. After wrapping up their statewide coverage of today’s historic gubernatorial recall in Wisconsin with live updates, the UW Election Eye: Politics in America’s heartland team will be talking with voters in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and other locales.
Approved Minor Plan Amendments
Approved Minor Plan Amendments to the Seattle Campus Master Plan:
- DPD Interpretation 06-003: Minor amendment approval to create a new development site for the UWMC Hospital Expansion, site 68S.
- DPD Interpretation 09-001: Minor amendment to create a new development site for Cunningham Hall, site 70C.
- DPD Interpretation 09-006: Three minor plan amendments approved by DPD that include: 1) structure setback elimination, 2) clarification of bed allocation, and 3) clarification of Cavalier Apartments.
- DPD Interpretation 11-001: Three minor plan amendments approved by DPD that include: 1) demolition of Lander, 2) opens space on sites 42W and 29W, and 3) transfer of 535,000 gsf from Central Campus to West Campus.
University District Livability Partnership kick off meeting
The U District Livability Partnership is a three-year strategic initiative to encourage investment for a vibrant, walkable University District neighborhood. Free student art exhibit
A capstone Bachelor of Fine Arts show displaying the work of students graduating in painting and drawing, fibers and 3D4M will be on view at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery until May 30. The Jacob Lawrence Gallery is located in the north corner of the Art building on the first floor and admission is always free.
