High School Mathematics Academy

The College of Engineering Mathematics Academy helps high-achieving high school juniors develop the math and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in engineering and exposes students to engineering in practice. Open to all students, the Math Academy especially targets underrepresented minorities in engineering including African American, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander and female students. Applications are being accepted for summer 2011 and are due by March 2, 2011.

A new month means the premiere of a new line up of visual essays on UW360. Tune in to cable channel 27 at 10 pm on Wednesdays to view photographs from pre-WWII Japan; savor the story of Fran’s Chocolates; explore the Penny Arcade Expo; see UW gymnast Kristen Linton in action; take a peek inside the Drama School’s costume shop and learn about cutting edge research on designer proteins. If you miss the show, UW 360 can also be viewed on-line.
