Biosafety Rotation
This is a short rotation, occurring once, and taking no more than 2 hours a week for 3 months.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The goal of this rotation is to familiarize the residents with the principles of biosafety, as used in practice, the NIH Recombinant DNA Guidelines, and the relationship between an IBC and IACUC. This is accomplished via participation in the following:
- Institutional Biosafety Committee review of an animal protocol
- Blood-Borne Pathogen training
- Biosafety training
- ABSL3 orientation
