Easter Seals Camp
- DO-IT is involved in many summer camps. One of them is the Easter Seals Society camp near Vaughn Bay, Washington. Here, DO-IT offers Internet activities in a high tech lab. They're educational and fun. Some campers communicate year-round with friends they've made over the Internet. Easter Seals Camps are for young people with a variety of disabilities. It plays the same role as most summer camps, to get away and have fun. But campers can also be with and learn about other people with the same or a different disability. Camp sessions are anywhere from five to seven days, depending on individual age, abilities, and needs.
- Despite their disabilities, campers have ways to do most anything anyone else at camp would do. This camp proves it all. The campers enjoy many activities such as swimming, boating, archery, horseback riding, camp fires, and more. Social life is important too. Not a problem. Dances and other group activities help campers make new friendships and have more fun.
- The environment is great. The campers are in a big, open, quiet surrounding. The staff is friendly, helpful, and highly trained with multi-disability issues. A twenty-four hour nursing system ensures immediate attention and help to campers, should the need arise.
