Web Accessibility Capacity Building Institute (2006)
November 29 - December 1, 2006
Hotel Andra
Seattle, Washington
For three days in Seattle, representatives from W3C, IBM, Google, Yahoo, Adobe, and GW Micro, as well as 27 web managers and programmers from 11 colleges and universities gathered at the Hotel Andra to identify accessibility solutions related to emerging technologies.
As we in higher education institutions explore and begin to utilize rich media technologies to improve functionality and usability of our Web services, we are faced with the question of how to ensure that services will be accessible to users with disabilities. This gathering was to explore that question, identify promising directions, and articulate some specific steps we can take.
