National Ambassadors

The following Ambassadors began participating in DO-IT as Scholars in 1998. They continue to pursue college and career goals and encourage younger DO-IT Scholars and Ambassadors.

Blair, '98 Scholar

Brain injury
Earned a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in industrial technology from the University of Idaho. Works for Goddard Flight Space Center in Maryland.

Emily, '98 Scholar

Cerebral palsy
Graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology. Works as a communications consultant in the nonprofit sector.

Kimberlee, '98 Scholar

Cerebral palsy, autism
Winner of second place medals in 50- and 100-yard dash events in Special Olympics. Also participates in Special Olympics bowling. Is a peer mentor with adults with autism, using music therapy.

Cerebral palsy
Graduated from secretarial school; attends business courses at Anoka Technical College. Manages her own business.

Learning disability
Earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Teaches high school math.

Earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Washington and a master's degree in sports management from the University of San Francisco. Working as the information technology director for Glostone Trucking Solutions and as chief operations officer and chief technology officer of Med-Safe Management.

Attended Santa Fe Community College and the University of New Mexico. Studying dance in Spain.

Earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Grinnell College; currently pursuing a doctoral degree in public administration and policy at Portland State University.

Jeffrey, '98 Scholar

Ataxia telangiectasia
Earned a bachelor's degree in biology and geology from Northeastern University. Died in April 2006.

Earned a bachelor's degree in business management from University of Phoenix.

Earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Works for Nebraska's Office of the Chief Information Officer as an Internet application developer.

Earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Montana.

Jesse, '98 Scholar

Cerebral palsy
Earned a bachelor's degree in political science, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University; and a law degree from the University of San Francisco. Received a DO-IT Trailblazer award in 2009. Works as a lawyer in the Bay area.

Earned a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from St. Mary's College of Maryland; and law degree from University of Maryland. Works as a lawyer.

Earned a degree in physical education from Ball State University. Married and works as a high school physical education teacher and head volleyball coach. Also head coach of the Minnesota One Junior Olympic Volleyball Team.
