How can I adapt specific science activities in a general curriculum for students with disabilities?

Examples of how you can adapt specific science activities from a general curriculum can be found in a joint project between DO-IT and MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement). For each activity of each book in the MESA series, DO-IT staff created a list of suggested accommodations for students with specific disabilities. You can find these accommodation suggestions by visiting the MESA Supplement Website: How to Fully Include Students with Disabilities.

The site includes not only links to each MESA book and the accommodations suggested for each activity but also information on the importance of universal design of instruction. It also provides general guidelines for addressing the needs of students with disabilities while conducting the activities in the MESA books.
