Congratulations to Jonathan Lazar for being the SIGACCESS Outstanding Contribution Recipient for 2020!

SIGACCESS, the Special Interest Group on Accessible Computing, recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the development of computing technologies that improve the accessibility of media and services to people with disabilities.

Jonathan Lazar, PhD, LLM is a professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, where he is Associate Director of the Trace Center, and faculty in the Human-Computer Interaction Lab. Prior to this, he founded the Universal Usability Lab in 2003, served as director of the Towson University information systems program, and has been a long-time advocate for digital accessibility. His contributions span extensive research, practice, education, advocacy, policy and legal work.

For winning this award, Jonathan Lazar is invited to present a keynote talk at the ASSETS Conference, which will be hosted online this year from October 26th-28th. Look online to learn more about this conference and see all of the AccessComputing partners and participants presenting papers.
