- Check in with Lead Staff then go meet up a group on the Willow Hall 5th Floor between 7:00 and 8:00 to go down to breakfast. Check in with Lead Staff if you do not plan to go to breakfast.
At 8:30: Phase I: Meet outside Willow Hall Center Table to walk to HUB 145.
At 8:30: Phase II: Meet outside Willow Hall Center Table to depart for Phase II Workshops.
Phase II: Workshops
Robotics: Human Centered Robotics (Gates Center, Room G-60) Maya Cakmak, Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, University of Washington; Maru Cabrera, Postdoc, Robotics, University of Washington
- Robots will soon be integrated in our daily lives just like our laptops or smartphones. But what will they do for us? In this workshop we will discover different types of robots, explore their potential use for making people's lives easier, and learn how to program them. By the end of the week our robots will have a whole new set of useful capabilities, all taught by you!
Lights, Camera, Advocacy: Digital Storytelling and Disability (HUB, Room 250) Courtney Cole, Peter Rand, Vanessa Link, Rachel Miyazaki, Vilissa Thompson, Rooted in Rights
- Got something to say? Work with staff from Rooted in Rights to produce a creative, fully accessible video that advocates for disability rights. You will experience the filmmaking process from start to finish. We will discuss effective storytelling, brainstorm topics, work on story structure, and write scripts. Then, we will use a simple set of tools to shoot a professional video. You will learn the basics of Adobe Rush and edit your own video. Finally, you will ensure video accessibility and of course, share them online via social media!

- Be part of the DO-IT webdev team! Collaborate with other Phase I Scholars to design and build the 2019 DO-IT Summer Study website in this five-part workshop.

- Have lunch with fellow Scholars in the Husky Den.
- Computer lab is open from 12:00-1:30 in HUB 145. Great time to work on newsletter article, accessibility review, evaluations, check email or just hang out in the lab.
Phase II: Accessible Keyboards (HUB, Room 250) Branden Byers and Ethan Madden, CKEYS
- Learn skills to excel at building and programming your own keyboards or other input devices.
Phase I: Writing for Success (HUB, Room 145) Tami Tidwell, DO-IT Publications Coordinator
- Get in touch with your networking side by sending a formal thank you email.
Phase I: Transforming Lives, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) (HUB, Room 145) DVR
- Learn about DVR; The Purpose, Eligibility and Process. This is a great opportunity to ask your questions to real DVR counselors and hear from Ambassadors using DVR services.

Phase I: Self Determination: Your Rights and Responsibilities Under the Law (HUB, Room 145) K Wheeler, Office Assistant, DO-IT, recent graduate in Law, Societies, and Justice and Disability Studies, University of Washington
- The laws that govern education change as you head to college. You will hear about the changes in the law and why you may need to develop and strengthen your self determination and self advocacy skills.

- Check-in and chat about DO-IT workshops, assignments, daily events, Phase II, Ambassadors, internships, and questions and answer.
Phase I & II: Travel in group back to dorm and prepare for the Dance
At 5:45, 6 or 6:15 on Willow Hall 5th Floor to depart for HUB

- Celebrate your Summer Study successes including new DO-IT friends.
- Dance the night away with Scholars, Ambassadors, Mentors, and other DO-IT community members.
At 9:00, 9:30 or 10:00 Depart HUB to return to Willow Hall
Evening Dorm Activities / Go To Bed (Willow Hall, 5th Floor)
- Visiting, board games, crafts, and more (Willow 5th Floor Lounge).
- Hang out in your dorm room or go to bed early to get some rest.
Flush and Brush!
- Time to finish up your evening routine and head to your room.
Goodnight! All Scholars must be in their rooms in Willow Hall.
