Students with disabilities may use any tool for finding a job that other students can use. For example, placement services through a student's college should be equipped to assist students with disabilities rather than referring them back to the disabled student services office.
There are also tools designed specifically for job seekers with disabilities. In addition to job placement services provided through state rehabilitation programs, there are, for example:
- government supported placement services with emphasis on persons with disabilities, such as Disability Employment, the Workforce Recruitment Program, and Entry Point!.
- the National Business & Disability Council National Resume Database for job seekers with disabilities.
- private placement services such as HirePotential.
- temporary or consultant staffing agencies like Bender Consulting.
- state Disability:IN events.
- disability-specific career services such as Deaf Job Service.
- job search web sites, some of which have disabilities-related sections. For example, Monster.com has this specialized content and also sponsors a virtual job fair for people with disabilities.
