Gov. Inslee appoints law student Jaron Goddard as new student regent
Gov. Jay Inslee has named Jaron Goddard as the next student member of the University of Washington Board of Regents for the 2017-18 school year. Goddard is an incoming second-year law student at the UW School of Law and has a Master’s of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. Her one-year appointment to the Board of Regents is effective July 1. Read more from UW Today.

Northwest Chapter Emmy Award to UWTV, CSNE executive director
Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored UWTV and Eric Eric Chudler, executive and education director of UW’s Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering, with an Emmy® Award on Saturday. The award recognized the program “BrainWorks: Exercise and the Brain” in the Health/Science Program/Special category. The program was produced by UW Video Producer Cara Podenski and Chudler, who is also an associate professor of bioengineering at the UW.

Meet Chris Szarek, a Navy veteran and UW alum earning great acclaim for his work with student veterans. Szarek is the founding director of the Veterans Resource Center at Edmonds Community College. President Cauce hosts The Lincoln Project Symposium
President Cauce recently hosted The Lincoln Project Symposium on the University of Washington campus. An initiative of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, The Lincoln Project, named after President Lincoln who signed the Morrill Act laying the groundwork for our public university system during very difficult times in our country, seeks to increase understanding of the impact of public research universities so as to build support for greater public and private investment.
