Women Who Rock (un)conference

The Women Who Rock Project are hosting their third “unconference” and launching an oral history archive on March 9. The event will be held at Washington Hall in Seattle’s Central Area. Registration is free and the event will feature live music. Read more from UW Today.

UW Professor at Town Hall Seattle on Thursday

Joe Janes from the UW’s Information School will tell the stories from the series Documents that Changed the World at Town Hall this Thursday. Janes hosts a popular podcast that most recently explored the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI. Read more from Town Hall Seattle. Tickets are $5 or free for UW students with ID.

UW tops list of Peace Corps volunteers

The UW ranks first on the Peace Corps 2013 Top Colleges Ranking for producing Peace Corps volunteers. Alumni are working in agriculture, community and economic development, education, environment, health, and youth development. There are 107 Husky volunteers in 46 countries. The UW shares top rankings with two other Washington universities that ranked No. 1 in the medium and small school categories. Read more from The Seattle Times and the Peace Corps.
