The Department of Architecture was established in Seattle in 1914 and was granted college status in 1957. In 2009, the college was renamed the College of Built Environments (CBE). Today, CBE faculty set program requirements, teach, and conduct research in architecture, construction management, landscape architecture, and urban design and planning. 700 students participate in a range of undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and professional studies in Washington State, through online courses, and in short term programs abroad.
