We know that many families are concerned about their ability to pay for college. University of Washington undergraduates receive about $440 million in financial aid per year. Over 50% of our undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid.

The Net Price Calculator provides a financial aid estimate for prospective full-time, undergraduate students. By answering a few simple questions, the calculator will present you with an estimate of your full-time cost of attendance and financial aid eligibility based on the previous year’s available funds. The Net Price Calculator is currently based on 2024-25 information.  University scholarships are not included in the Net Price Calculator.  Please see this page for information on UW scholarships.

In order to use the Net Price Calculator, you will need to have some information available from your parents’ and your most recent tax returns. You do not need to know your Student Aid Index (SAI) when using the calculator as your SAI will be estimated using the Net Price Calculator.

It is useful to have these documents or amounts ready before you use the calculator:

  • The federal income tax returns filed by the student and the student’s parent(s) from two years’ ago
  • The W-2 forms and/or pay stubs with year-to-date information for the student and parent(s) from two years’ ago
  • Current value of assets

Note: By using this calculator, you are NOT applying for aid. If you prefer a more detailed SAI calculation, you may use the Federal Student Aid Estimator. The estimated values produced by this calculator are not the actual amounts students will be offered. All estimates are subject to the availability of funding.

International students can use the net price calculator to get an estimate of the cost of attendance. For more detailed information about expected expenses as an international student please see International Student Service’s website. Please note that aid offered to international students is severely limited by federal regulations and University policy, and as such, the calculator will not provide an estimate of aid.
