In fiscal year 2016-17, you and 150,000+ fellow donors contributed $564.4 million to the University’s programs in support of students, faculty, programs and facilities.
What you care about can change the world
Dear Friends,
Thank you for everything you make possible at the University of Washington. By linking your passions with your philanthropy, you are powering the work that our students, faculty and staff do every day.
In our fiscal year that closed on June 30, 2017, you and more than 150,000 alumni and friends contributed to a record-breaking $564.4 million in private donations to the UW. While this report is a formal accounting of your generosity over the past year, the impact of your giving will be felt for decades to come.
Last year, we launched our transformative campaign, Be Boundless — For Washington, For the World, with the aim of broadening our impact and changing lives. These lofty ambitions required an ambitious goal: $5 billion. We are humbled and grateful to acknowledge that your generosity has already brought us close to this goal — to $4.42 billion, as of Dec. 1, 2017. But even more important, it is making a difference for countless people.
Through your unwavering support, you are already advancing the four key goals of the campaign:
You are enhancing the student experience
By investing in scholarships and fellowships, you are fueling possibility and making college more accessible to students. Through your program support, you are deepening the Husky Experience for students on our campuses and around the world.
You are driving the public good
You are bolstering the UW’s mission as a public university by helping us expand patient care, access to higher education, service-learning opportunities and projects in our communities.
You are expanding our impact — everywhere
You are driving research and teaching at the UW by providing resources for crucial and high-demand programs. You are supporting the University’s faculty, students and staff as they work near and far to improve health and well-being for all.
You are empowering possibility through innovation
Through your philanthropy, you are strengthening a climate of inclusive innovation. The faculty, facilities and programs that you support help the UW launch startups and work across disciplines to find solutions to today’s most crucial challenges.
Thank you for your partnership — and for your belief that together, we will change the world.
Sincerely,
Ana Mari Cauce
