UW Commencement

Student Inspections

Students are required to present their purple or gold student ticket along with their Husky ID card or state issued photo ID. No backpacks or alcohol allowed. All students will be inspected upon entry to the lining up area, including bags (see clear bag policy below), purses and academic apparel.  Be prepared to open your gown for visual inspection. Students are encouraged to not bring other bags, purses, etc. as there is no secure location to store them and they are not allowed on the field.

Any items deemed by the University of Washington staff to be inappropriate or possibly disruptive of other guests’ enjoyment are prohibited. Violators are subject to removal from the stadium and to applicable disciplinary action and/or legal action.

Items Allowed at Husky Stadium

All graduates and their guests, along with any items, are subject to search. In an effort to improve safety, the University of Washington has implemented a clear bag policy for graduation at Husky Stadium.

Approved bags includes clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″, 1-gallon clear, resealable plastic storage bags and small clutch bags no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″ (approximately the size of a hand) with or without a handle or strap. Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, purses, backpacks, diaper bags, binocular cases, camera cases, fanny packs, luggage seat cushions with a zipper, any bag larger than the permissible size and any bag that is not clear.

Graduates and guests are encouraged to bring only necessary items. In an effort to better communicate and enforce approved and prohibited items, please review the following items allowed into Husky Stadium:
