What inspires meKeats Landis

Traveling and learning about new cultures. Often one does not have to go far. One can walk into a different neighborhood that is unfamiliar and be open and take in customs, foods, and the various values of that particular locale. Being open to observing, listening, and partaking in conversations. It just widens one’s world to learn more about the differences and similarities between an array of communities and lands one has never come across. The learning brings joy and more understanding even when it can be confusing and mysterious or even jarring at the same time. Discovering is key. It can also make it a smaller, healthier and more fascinating world.

Background

I graduated from NYU with a degree in History and Political Science. I also have an AS degree in Business from Lake Washington Tech. Since that time, I have worked in advertising in San Francisco as well as four different departments at the UW; College of Education/Cultivate Learning (Early Childhood Education), Evans School of Public Policy, and Foster School of Business/Creative Destruction Lab all in the administrative field. I also juggle community work within my South Seattle neighborhood in bringing teen sports teams, and art and cooking classes together along with grant projects for various specified needs within the community, shepherding different resources and other neighborhoods and organizations together.
