MEDCON awards

Physicians honored for answering regional calls

Ten UW physicians have been honored for outstanding service as MEDCON consultants during 2001. MEDCON is a 24-hour, toll-free line that physicians in the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) can call to obtain consultations concerning their patients. MEDCON enables community physicians practicing throughout the region to connect with the expertise at the UW School of Medicine.

In announcing the awards, Dr. Andy Ziskind, associate vice president for clinical specialty programs and associate dean for clinical affairs, noted the 10 honored UW physicians’ exceptional willingness to be available, to educate and to respond to clinical questions from the region’s physicians.
