Artist to discuss writing, painting

Local artist Barbara Earl Thomas will discuss the creative link between her writing and painting during a lecture at the Faculty Club, Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Born and raised in Seattle, Thomas has exhibited work throughout the region and the nation. In 1998 and again in 2000 she received The Seattle Arts Commission Award for new nonfiction.

“I want to communicate — to talk to, touch, get under the skin of my viewer,” Thomas said.

The lecture is being presented by the Textual Studies Program and the Center for the Humanities, the Kenneth S. Allen Library Endowment Fund, the Department of English, the School of Art and the Department of Comparative Literature.
