ARBOR-READ-‘EM: Need some books and want to help a worthy cause at the same time? The Arboretum is having a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2. Aptly dubbed the Arbor-Read-‘Em, the sale will be held in the Graham Visitors Center. Prices start at 25 cents for children’s books, 50 cents for paperbacks and $1.25 for hard backs. It’ll cost a little more for collectibles and special titles. For more information call 206-726-1954.


AN AMERICAN AWARDED IN PARIS: Graduating students from the international business school INSEAD named Accounting Professor Robert Bowen as best teacher of 2001 at a Paris ceremony in December. Bowen taught core courses in financial reporting as a visiting professor from January to March of last year. The school, located in the Fontainebleau forest, south of Paris, enrolls students from more than 50 countries each year. The award included his all expense paid trip to Paris.


KUDOS: Odai Johnson, assistant professor of drama, is the co-editor (with William J. Burling) of the just published The Colonial Stage, 1665-1774: A Documentary Calendar . . . APL Principal Engineer Robert Spindel has been elected a Fellow of the Acoustic Society of America.
