Event will help rural landowners comply with rules

A year ago on May 17, Washington’s Forest Practices Board adopted new permanent rules implementing what’s called the Forest and Fish law passed by the Legislature. As the one-year anniversary of that adoption comes to pass, the University of Washington’s College of Forest Resources is bringing together representatives of four organizations that have been trying to help rural landowners understand and meet the new requirements.

The UW’s Denman Forestry Issues Series presents, “In Support of Washington’s Non-Industrial Private Forest Landowners,” Monday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 106 B of the Husky Student Union Building (HUB).

Landowners, students, faculty and other members of the general public are welcome to attend this event at no charge. For an agenda visit http://www.cfr.washington.edu/Outreach/Denman/may2002.htm. For more information call Patricia Gomez at 206-543-7183, cfrevent@u.washington.edu.
