Law interns to work with Cantwell

The UW School of Law and the Shidler Center for Law, Commerce and Technology have established an internship program sponsored by Sen. Maria Cantwell. Beginning this fall, three UW law students are spending 12 weeks each in the nation’s capitol working with Cantwell and the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which the senator is a member.

The internship program will provide law students with practical training in the area of technology law and policy. Students will assist Cantwell and members of her staff with Judiciary Committee matters regarding issues such as intellectual property rights, Internet security, personal privacy issues, e-commerce regulation, telecommunications policy, and the U.S.A. Patriot Act.

Third-year students Janis Snoey, Tessa Yutadco and Kristin Roberts have been selected as interns for the 2002–2003 academic year.
