A student-organized drive to register bone marrow donors will be held Friday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Health Sciences Lobby. The goal is to register people of color and people with multiracial backgrounds. Caucasians may also register, but will need to pay a fee for testing. Fees for others are paid by a national subsidy to increase minority and multiracial donors on the national registry. Students from the Community Health Advancement Program and the Asian Pacific Islander Health Interest Group are the primary organizers. For more information, call the CHAP office at 543-9425.

Dr. Susan Wray, director of industry relations for the School of Medicine, will be one of the speakers at a day-long “Bootcamp for Early-Stage Bioscience Entrepreneurs” organized by the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association. The program will be Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture. The cost is $75, including lunch and handouts. Call 206-624-1967 for more information.
