Previews set for new ad campaign

Faculty, staff and students are invited to learn more about UW Medicine and preview the new advertising campaign at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, in Hogness Auditorium at the Health Sciences Center. After the 45-minute presentation, which includes a preview of two television spots, refreshments will be served in the Health Sciences Lobby.

The television commercials will also be available for previewing at Harborview Thursday, Feb. 6 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Research and Training Building auditorium, or Friday, Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to noon in Harborview Hall auditorium.

UW Medicine is the new name for the UW Academic Medical Center, which includes Harborview Medicine Center, UW Medical Center, the UW Physicians Neighborhood Clinics, and the School of Medicine. While these entities fall under the umbrella of UW Medicine, their own names will remain unchanged.

UW Medicine also will be used for overall marketing of UW clinical services previously advertised under the UW Physicians brand.

The two new UW Medicine commercials, filmed in Seattle, will begin airing Monday, Feb. 10, on local TV and cable stations. Look for them during popular prime-time programs such as “West Wing” and “CSI” and during local newscasts. A print ad campaign will also begin that day in the Seattle daily newspapers, the King County Journal, and the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Several magazines will also be carrying the ads, including locally mailed editions of Sunset, Time, Newsweek, and U.S.News & World Report.
