UW Medical Center is seeking about 100 people willing to participate as mock victims, family members and volunteers for a Western Washington Disaster Drill on Thursday, May 13, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Volunteers do not need to be available for the entire time. The scenario will involve the use of decontamination showers and preparation of the medical center to handle a mass-casualty event. Volunteers can play a range of roles for the exercise and will provide a valuable means of evaluating the medical center’s emergency response systems. To volunteer, contact Tamlyn Thomas, UWMC disaster response coordinator, by e-mail at thomast@u.washington.edu or leave voice mail at 206-598-2837.
