Board of Regents Meeting
The University of Washington Board of Regents will hold a regular meeting at 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, in the Walker-Ames Room, Kane Hall on the Seattle campus. The Regents will meet in formal session to take official action on personnel appointments and changes, gifts and grants, contracts and agreements with outside agencies, and other University business.

Research participants wanted
The Department of Environmental Health is seeking people with asthma, ages 18–50, to participate in a study of the effects of inhalation of sulfur dioxide on lung function. The study will involve one screening visit and two lab visits. Participants will receive $50 per lab visit. For more information, please contact Jane Koenig or Karen Jansen at 206-543- 2026.

Blood drives
Friday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:45 to 4 p.m. in the Health Sciences Lobby.

Monday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:45 to 4 p.m. in the HUB, Room 108 and from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m. in the SAE main living room.

Tuesday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 pm and 2:45 to 5 p.m. on Stevens Way across from Lewis Hall.

Monday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:45 to 5 p.m. in the bus parked at University Way and 40th.


 


Legal Notice


Public Hearing Set
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at noon on Thursday, May 27, in Room 309 of the Husky Union Building (HUB) at the UW, Seattle campus. The purpose of the hearing is to allow all interested persons an opportunity to present their views, either orally or in writing, on the proposed amendments to Chapter 478–168 WAC, “Regulations for the University of Washington Libraries.”

The proposed amendments to Chapter 478-168 WAC remove non-essential elements from the code that are more appropriate to the University of Washington Libraries Operations Manual and Web site. Additionally, obsolete policies have been removed and housekeeping changes made for names of units and position titles.

Copies of the proposed WAC rules may be obtained by contacting Rebecca Goodwin Deardorff, Director, Rules Coordination Office, 4014 University Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105–6203; Campus Mail: Box 355509; or by phone at 206–543–9199. Copies will also be available at the public hearing.
