2004-05 University of Washington National Merit Scholarship recipients
Vice President for Student Affairs Ernest R. Morris has announced 26 recipients of 2004-05 University of Washington National Merit Scholarships, beginning autumn quarter. The recipients, 24 freshmen and 2 sophomores (students who left high school as juniors to enroll at the University), come from 16 high schools and 12 cities and towns in the state. Seven are residents of other states.
University of Washington National Merit Scholarships are designed to help exceptional students meet their overall undergraduate educational costs. Awarded for four years, the scholarships are valued from $1,000 to $2,000 annually.
In addition, many students throughout the country are awarded National Merit Scholarships of differing lengths and values by various corporations, including the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and awardees are free to choose the institutions they wish to attend.
