Program covers basics of starting a company at UW

“Starting a Company While Keeping Your Day Job at the UW” is the title for the next presentation in the series “Things Your Mother Never Taught You,” sponsored by the School of Medicine’s Industry Relations Office.

The presentation will be at noon, Wednesday, April 6, in room T-739 of the Health Sciences Center. It is free and open to everyone. The speakers will be Dr. Susan Wray, director of industry relations, and Dr. Paula Szoka, director of invention licensing for UW Tech Transfer.

Topics will include the rules, regulations and resources available to UW faculty involved in start-up companies, as well as information on outside consulting, conflict-of-interest rules, and financial interests. Two case studies on the experiences of faculty members will be discussed.
